A Year in the Life
It seems really appropriate that I had just started drinking my first cup of very black coffee when I saw the new Gilmore Girls posters had come out.
Shut up, I love them.
Since the show has ramped up it’s popularity via Netflix I’ve had to answer a lot of “isn’t that for Basic Bitches?” questions. Let me tell you I watched it when it first aired. And no one knew what it was. And no one got the hundred obscure references an episode so the DVDs came with cheat guides.
When all my friends went off to college and I still had a year of high school the Gilmores started. And it couldn’t have come at a better time. So yes it’s been co-opted by some people, but I don’t care.
On a photographic note props to whoever had to prep these images. I once did a series with a blue gelled backdrop, and no matter how carefully you mark off your places or try not to move the lights the light fall off colour change is a nightmare. Especially when you think each shot is just right and you put them next to each other and every one has a slightly different shade of blue. Seriously, see this poster I did for the one cool word magazine staff.
Where was I?
Right. Gilmore Girls. Yay!
Also, more coffee.
