A couple of days ago I said “I feel like art is expanding and being destroyed at the same time. In the future this period will be known as the Supernova Movement.” In a way I think this post illustrates just that feeling, but with communication.
With what I do for a living (being a photographer) currently going through upheaval in it’s purpose, I’ve been focused a lot on the mood of the world & technology. The way we communicate has so rapidly evolved and devolved in the past decade that some days I feel that my voice is all but lost in the wind.
For a while friends like ALTH & chainletter2 had told me that I should get a tumblr, and I resisted. I was worried that I would be diving into a land of memes, just another time suck. Instead I found a way to really represent who I am as a photographer. To talk about my experiences, post photos that I’ve taken, and really craft a blog. Unlike the one on my website, this was convenient to update and lived in a space with other creative minds.
Tumblr is a one stop shop of inspiration, and I’m happy to have a storefront.
