People have asked me to pull together the videos, graphics, and resources I’ve been sharing on social media ahead of the BC Provincial Election. Here you’ll find everything that I’ve posted. To follow along with up to the moment posts find me on any social media where you are. I am not paid by any political party or group, nor do I make any money from the content that I’ve been posting. Everything here is my personal opinion and is part of the work that I do as a cultural commentator.

The amazing women of the 49 Clicks podcast had me on for a long conversation all about why British Columbia is having an election, the history of the parties in BC and why they don’t align with the federal ones, and everything else you need to know before you cast your vote. Or for those outside BC a way to answer some of your questions about what is going on.
Check them out wherever you get podcasts, on YouTube, TikTok, Gander, and Substack.
BC’s Next Premier?
We still have no idea who would be Premier if the BC Conservatives win a majority. Per their own constitution it cannot be Doerkson. But there is definitely one person who is making himself front and centre during this campaign - Aaron Gunn.
There are 30 ridings that will come down to about 100 votes. Ask yourself if you are really willing to take a gamble on the future of this province.
Don’t Split the Vote
There are 30 crucial ridings that this election will come down to. A dozen are too close to call. But there are 18 others with active vote splitting happening which will mean a Conservative win.
Here they are. If you live in any of these ridings please encourage everyone to get out and vote to ensure a good turnout, some are predicted to come down to less than 100 votes.
Too Close to Call
Advanced polls are now open! It’s time to get out and vote! This election is going to be a nail biter for sure.
People always complain that I talk about vote splitting and blame the Greens, today I’m making it very clear - West Vancouver Sea to Sky, vote Green or we risk losing the riding to Conservatives. Everyone else get out and vote NDP!
Your Body Their Choice
The issue of abortion in Canada has been settled since 1988 when it was struck down from the Criminal Code in R. v. Morgentaler. And yet there are candidates running under BC Conservatives & OneBC that get a green light from right wing lobbyist for their anti-abortion stance. Women of the Fraser Valley, get out and vote.
No Leader?
This month British Columbians are being asked to vote for a new Legislature. While every person only has the power to vote within their riding and not for who becomes Premier there is a bigger question we need to be talking about…
If the BC Conservatives win who will the Premier be? Because it can’t be Lorne Doerkson. And this spring when the party members voted they elected a leader who wanted to separate BC from Canada. And unless you’re a BC Conservative Party member you will have no say.
Vote Voice Volunteer
This election will be a test of our willingness to participate in democracy. I challenge those who live in these 25 ridings to get out and make themselves heard. I know it’s possible, the riding I live in went from over 60% conservative to flipping NDP and I believe we can do it again. It’s easy to get discouraged or feel alone, but you aren’t.
25 Years of Conservative
The last few years have felt like a lifetime with so much going on in BC and the world. It’s worth looking back at the full picture though, at what conservative policies have done to this province. It takes much longer to fix a mess than to create one.
A Look Back at 2024
With every election, both provincial and federal, we end up having the same discussion about strategic voting. I have already seen a host of accounts saying that discussing strategic voting is a bully tactic from fear mongerers. Concerningly I’ve also seen those saying vote splitting isn’t real.
So I thought this would be a good time to talk about what vote splitting is and some real data about the 2024 BC election.
